Hiring Managers Use Social Media to ‘Check out Candidates’

According to a recent poll of 100 hiring managers at small, midsized and large companies on how social media is being used in the hiring process, Three-quarters of hiring managers check LinkedIn to research the credentials of job candidates. Of the hiring managers surveyed, 75 percent use LinkedIn, 48 percent use Facebook, and 26 percent use Twitter to research candidates before making a job offer.

I just got back from the Green Jobs Summit at FIT. I found it very informative and inspiring.

We both really enjoyed the Green Jobs Summit and thought it was very informative and thought-provoking, particularly the discussions about “green” terminology and the challenge of locating “green” jobs in the massive, often jumbled job market.
